Thanks Lance. As you say no point in having a screen you can not see for 80 Bucks. Whats this extended battery option you speak of? How much rewcording time do you get with the standard battery and no memory card?

    Bryan.
A bud of mine was a devout Go-Pro man, but got tired waiting for the latest backpack upgrade early this year. He defected over to the contour and loves its features. He makes a lot of dunes movies edited with music and all told, likes the contour better than Go-Pro.... period!

The only thing That our friend likes better on the Go Pro is the delay of zillionth second...the picture is crisper, and gets the little vibration/fuzzy out of that frame..

I have a GoPro Hero 2 with a lcd back to see what you are lining up in your shots. The LCD screen is not easy to see at any distance when you are wearing polarized sunglasses or goggles. What I actually like best about the camera is the cases for it are well designed and take a lot of abuse. The lens on the case is easy to replace for just a little money if it gets scratched or otherwise damaged. I do not put it on my helmet, I either mount it to the body of the roll cage and the mounts allow you almost unlimited adjustments for angles. They just came out with their third generation camera and the advantage of that one is the lens is flatter so you have less fish eye look on the edges of your video. For me the protection of the camera is a big deal, because I tend to get busy and forget that I laid something on the front of my commander and drive off, I had to replace my iPhone for that very reason as I was second in a line of 23 ATV/UTVs and I ran over my iPhone and I am not sure how many behind me did but when I went back to find it the screen was broken pretty bad, that can get expensive. My friends call me the absent minder professor, because I get busy and leave stuff everywhere.

    Good info thanks

Here is the cameras I found on the market right know. I am sure there are more I don't know about.
I did the link and photos to the latest on there web sites so they may have less expensive ones too.

I have to say the Remote that comes with the Drift cameras with a record On/Off light is something I would like to have for theses cameras mounted outside of reach. The Apps of other cameras now also allow the same thing but one camera at a time where the drift will allow a number of cameras to all work off one remote or you can use a remote for each camera. The Contour App is really nice when setting up the cameras on your helmet or even when mounting on the car. The Go Pro chest mount gives a great point of view.

I put a link to each website just above the picture.

Go Pro has more cameras but these are the top of the line and newest.

A new one I just came across. Seems to be at a low price compared to some.

I have the Drift HD. Its a nice camera with a lot of easy to understand functions. The only thing I do not like about is in order to have the display on your right side the camera is upside down so you have to turn the lense 180 degrees to get right side up playback. Ask me how I know lol.

This does look like a nice camera. The price I found was $350 but that may have been that package with mounts and whatnot.

Here is another link for this camera.
