Well the wife has been wanting to ride with me for a bit and I was ready to trade the Sportsman 800 for a Sportsman 850 Touring. That was until we sat in a RZR and decided a UTV was the way to go.

We had prepared to drive out to Abernathy's in Union City, TN to pickup a RZR but we decided to shop around the other manufacturers just to be sure that's what we wanted. First stop was the Can-Am shop. The salesman had us test riding a red 1000XT within minutes. We continued to shop around checking out the Rhino, Teryx, Big Red (ugh), Prowler, Ranger and finally the RZR. No decision needed to be made. The overall quality of design, workmanship and engineering makes the Can-Am far above anything the other manufacturers currently have in the marketplace. In my humble opinion of course.

Long story short, the following weekend we brought home our fresh out of the crate 1000XT! The pre-delivery checklist on this forum was a big help also.

Looking forward to getting this thing out onto the trails. Just hope the wife doesn't hide the performance key!

Welcome asof2112.....great to hear that story....it is hard to beat the fitment and comfort of the Commander....it is the hottest sport/utility vehicle out there,,,,and the Wildcat coming out is pure sport and is looking to hunt XPs, so the Commander will still be #1 in it's class......it sure puts my Rhino to shame!....Lance

I'm considering getting a soft cab. The one from Mammoth Designs to be to the exact. The vented windshield looks sweet but I'm not seeing any reviews on their cab setup.

Welcome asof2112.Know you will enjoy your commander.Have had mine for just over a month. So far have ordered a two tone roof from Audiformz,Rear view mirror, snorkel kit from Arctic Thunder Customs, An underbody light kit which makes real nice mood lighting under the roof,a set of driving lights which I am installing on top of roll bar in rear for backup lights (night riding) and am currently waiting on my overhead stereo system from SSV Works.I am amazed at all the available accessories! Welcome aboard .post some pics when you ride!

What sort of riding will you be doing? Not trying to discourage you from any particular roof, but I was going to order a soft top until someone stated on a forum that soft tops are easily torn if trail riding, which is mostly what we do here in southern Alabama.Glad I oredered a hard top, because I do get small branches caught between roof and roll cage. Can only imagine what they would do to a soft top!

Welcome to the Forum. When I was evauating the SxS market I too started with wanting a RZR s model. Then they anounced the Commander was on the market. I went to Patton PA to test drive one and was sold on the power, fit and trim. A few months later the "X" was on it's way. Well eventually!lol.

    Welcome Asof2112,
Red is a great looking machine. I was like you looking at the RZR and ended up with the Commander and love it.

The wife and I took it out this past weekend to Wilderness Trail Off Road Park in Kentucky and had a great time. I'm very impressed how the Commander can handle some of the tight woods stuff with almost as much confidence as a quad. What a great machine.
