Sweet. You've won the first of two battles. The second is making sure they did all that after the fact Mike :thumbup:

1). I don't believe their is any way of removing the first 10 hr service message, all the rest yes!
2). Here in Canada our auto thermostats -100 deg Celsius = 212 Fahrenheit , your commander fan ingages @ 216 deg Fahrenheit that is after it has ran a while and warmed up.
3). The operating temp is verified by installing an inline thermostate sensor, that created peace of mind, P.S. that gauge moves up and down like a yoyo when on all season tracks!

The dealer is totally screwing you over. I hope you give him some really bad press. Find a different dealer. My 10hr service only cost me fluids. I thought my rear end was a bit loud, took it in and they replaced it. No charge. My dealer gives the best costumer service I have ever had in any industry. Also I found a couple scratches ( from assembly) when I first picked it up. He offered to replace the plastics or give me a windshield. Took a half window. I-5 power sports Albany Oregon. Cant say enough good things about Larry, Joel and the crew. I will say maintenance at ANY dealer is not cheap.

Original poster, where did you get your Commander from? I'm in south Florida looking to buy a Commander and would like to avoid that dealer.

I just bought my commander last week and the only can am dealer is over an hour away so I talked to the service guys quite a bit before I left with the unit. I was able to get them to program the grey key to be a spare performance key, turn off the maintenance required light so it don't come on a 10 hours and they gave me a print out of what they use as a service guide. I pretty much told them I'm not bringing it to them unless it needs to be warrantied and I document all my maintenance, the guy to my surprise says I don't blame you its a rip off to bring it in but this place gets so much business I think that's why he didn't care.

Kind of odd to have that service mindset of his, but on the flip side I would also give him credit for being a standup and truthful dealer.

The guy was down to earth, he gave me a quote for the first service it was around $225, told him I could do it cheaper he said he knew. Like I said this place is pretty busy they sell every brand except Polaris.

My dealer told me that alot of the things they recommend are not needed and it would be $150 to do the first 10 hour. He did say if I wanted they would do the full and it would cost alot but not needed.

Yes, I too was quoted $600 plus for a service that Can Am wishes you to do because of their lack of confidence in their own product ? This is truly a complete rip off perpetuated by Can Am and enabled and supported by the dealers. All are getting Fat except the paying consumer . Being a mechanic most of my adult life I understand how most of this works. I REFUSE to be held hostage by this type of corporate philosophy. Plain and simple a RIP OFF at those prices !
Themore I see and find out the more I am disappointed and frustrated. BRP can do better but apparently chooses not to voluntarily. Likely my last BRP product ever unless things and attitudes change.
There is far too much great competition out there to dwell on the negativeness of BRP. In My Humble Opinion .

Basically going to change engine oil & filter and check fluids in diff's and Generally run the meter while you are paying. Have you had your service done and was it under $200 or so ? Just curious about this rip off. Certainly old school mentality trying to rip off smarter consumers. Not a recipe for success.
