I have never been to Sand Mountain, looks like it is a seven hour drive from my house. Is it just the people that make the ride memorable or is there plenty to see on the rides?

Its about a 10 hr drive for us..
The dunes are nothing to write home about, cause we have 3 dunes different type of riding dunes within 45mins.
We knew from friends that go there all the time said we would be disappointed with the dunes acreage size...very small and mainly what they do is dragrace up the hill
So what we go for are the hundreds of miles of trails
And meeting all of our friends for a good time and meeting new friends to ride with.

There is almost as much sand area as Winchester if you count all the trails out back. Lots of big steep dunes, nothing like it it Oregon. They both have there good and bad points, Sand Mountain is def one of my favorite areas though!

Acreage wise Sand Mountain sand is about 1/4 of Winchester Bay...windy bay is approx 8sq miles at the most
Florence is about 10 and coosbay/spinreel is 16

I go for all the trails at sand mountain and not the sand personally..
And to see all.my.friends..
