    Default Bad shop diagnosis??? HELP!!

Hi everyone, been reading on the forums but first time posting. Hoping someone can offer some insight. Just today I sold my commander to a fella and delivered it 2.5 hours away. Just as I was pulling back into my driveway he calls saying he took it to the shop for the oil change( both parties aware it was needed) and the dealership, who doesn’t work or deal on can ams are telling him it has a blown head gasket, cracked cylinder or cracked head and he’s requesting his money. The bill of sale states “as is” so we’re at a standstill. Now I’m familiar with these failures and the symptoms such as excessive smoking, obvious leaks, overheating, coolant in the oil and the bike has absolutely none of these symptoms so I’m thinking the dealer did a bad diagnosis. I even had the gentleman pull the dipstick and oil cap and he says the oil is perfectly normal, no mixing. I’ve contacted three different can am dealers and they’ve all said those three failures are EXTREMELY rare on these engines, especially with no normal symptoms. He sent me the invoice that shows they even did a leak test and found no results. They’re claiming the coolant smells like exhaust as their diagnosis. Any input would be appreciated

Sounds like a hoax/setup to get you to refund some $$$ to me....not many buyers could rush their new ride in to be serviced and actually be able to get in for that diagnosis in 2+ hours.

That’s what I was thinking as well considering I’ve never had any symptoms during my ownership. Find it odd I had to deliver it 2.5 hours away bc he doesn’t have a trailer but somehow got it it to a shop and diagnosed before I made it home. Thanks for the response
