I am definitally buying one soon, been in the process of selling my Rhino, its finally gone, have been to the dealer and read up extensivily on both, (usually the bigger the motor the bigger the breaks(ie axles, rear ends etc)) but having a hard time deciding. Do I really need a 1000 will I be p*ssed at myself if I get the 800. I do mostly trail riding(no dunes in NH, access to 200+ miles from home) Most everybody on this site seems to have a 1000. I have to pull my head out because the dealer has both a 800XT and 1000XT and thy will not last long. any input would be appreciated. Thanx

PS. Everyone talks the top speed of the 1000 is 73mph, what is the 800?

Not able to help ya out on the 800...but I do know a few peeps bought the 800 and then upgraded the shocks....not sure what price difference that they have them price at....I know also of several peeps buying the X and added the winch...it was less expensive then upgrading the shocks and beadlocks...If I had to make a choice and the price difference wasn't much I would go with 1000XT....not sure if that was any help for ya...Barbara

I love my 1000X. The way I see it, you can't have too much power. It's more of a money issue. An 800 is still gonna stomp all over a Rhino.

Actually you both bring up a good point I wanted an XT for the winch and other acces. but the shocks alone are $2200, maybe the X is the way to go and buy a winch. I've heard the same thing from a few friends about the power deal(to much is never enough). Food for thought. Thanx for the input.

i came off a 700 ranger and had a 800 ordered but my dealer had a 1000 decked out and the guy didnt take it so he offered it to me--i'm glad i got the 1000--the 800 would have been plenty enough but a little more POWER can never hurt--

Right on IMO .....later on, we'll be finding out what kind of engine mods need to be done to the 800 to equal that of a factory stock 1000....we for one will be glad we started with the 1000 for power in the sand ...but for slow technical rock crawling and low speed trails, the 800 would be more than enough .......right back to the thought of type of usage ......

...sent with TapaTalk...please excuse brevity & no smileys
