Have you spent any time working with your shocks on it?...still have the XT shocks?

Are the front shocks on the front and rear on the rear?.... a high percentage of shocks were installed backwards. BLRs were, switched them to the correct placement and it still rode like a farm truck....then loosened the spring pre-load nut way looser than in the manual and made a world of difference thru the sand whoops.

But still after a better ride, so Elkas are ordered and soon will be here.

Any higher line of shock, King, Elka, Fox etc, will be better than your xt shocks....BLR has a set of Elkas on their way here now to replace her Fox x shocks, so when I get them on and adjusted will report back with the differences.....

I have a 2011 XT and have been way down this road.

My advice is:

If you want it to just handle a little better get some X shocks if you can get them for around $1000 or if you want to spend $1500 to $2700 you can get better after market shocks like Fox 2.0 or Elka's or Kings. But this will not be enough to skip over the bigger whoops like the XP or Artic Cat.

If you want to keep your Commander and want to skip over whoops you will need Long Travel and X Shocks or some after market shocks so getting shocks first and LT later will work. And yes the after market shocks for the stock Commander are the same length as the Commander Long travel shocks but are re-valved in most cases, but that can be done for about $100 per shock at any time. The cost to do this needs to be looked at because the complete kits with shocks are about $7000 when all is said and done. LT will get you close to the same travel on the Maverick and it may be cheaper to get a good deal on X shock add some spacers and sell it down the road and buy a Maverick that will do as good if not better than any LT kit out ther but with a warranty.

So the cheapest way to do all the upgrades is sell the Commander and get a Maverick that also has more power. But if you want the Commander bed or just like the look better i took off the TurnkeyUTV CX3 LT kit because at least for me hitting a small dip that the stock setup worked on in the past but with CX3 my upper shock mount crushed so I took everything off and put on Magnum M4 LT kit with there Fox 2.0 shocks (2.0 is a bigger nitrogen reservoir / stock and Elka is 1.75). I was VERY impressed with how well the Magnum long travel kit worked, however I have only had it out once and over the next week I plan to get some seat time. All the kit company's will tell you three to 5 weeks to build them but TurnkeyUTV said 3 weeks but took about 4 months to get everything to me and others. You might find a LT kit used for far less than new with everyone looking at the Maverick.

Another thing to think about with LT is the CV joints only have so much movement and they will wear out quicker then without LT.

I like the look of my Commander better than the Maverick but it would have been cheaper for me had I just sold the Commander and bought a Maverick.

Here is the bump that stock suspension could handle the turnkeyUTV CX3 LT kit could not.

FYI they all say they will cover there kits for defects but I found out that is not always the case and was promised I could return the defective kit but later told NO. They did say they could sell the kit on consignment only. I will take a $4000 dollar loss on this whole mess.

Thanks for the info !

Well price on shocks were a bit off they are $2988 plus tax for the adjustable kings shipped to Canada .

That seem like a good price?
