I'm starting this Thread in response to:
Stephane questions
Here's the poll..

Any of you have oil leak in the belt CV covert

My dealer change my crank seal on the secondary 3 time now cause engine oil leak in the belt cover.
I ask them to search farther than only change the seal cause there is probably a problem on my engine but they say Im not the only one whit this problem and they dont have another fix for now they work on it.

They also say they will extend my warranty for the seal so I will never have to pay for a seal in the future.

So my question who have this problem and who have not?

Ps I try to create a poll could someone help me I cannot finf wow to do it?

""Double check with your dealer Stephan as to which seal they are replacing ....your crankshaft /engine oil seal is the primary clutch,,,,, the tranny shaft is the secondary clutch,,, so something isn't adding up with which seal is the problem.....I don't think it could be anything besides a seal either

Can't help you with a poll as I'm on a mobile ....someone will help ya or I will tonight .....Lance""

I haven't had any problem yet..Barbara

Belt was starting to chatter and slip so I decided to change belt and this is what I found, oil leaking from behind Primary clutch. IMG_0147.jpg IMG_0148.jpg IMG_0150.jpg IMG_0151.jpg

Had the same problem with my 1000XT with only 300km. Dealer replaced engine and gearbox seals as well as the belt. Still only have about 400km, but I think I will pull the cover soon to see if it's stayed dry

Just turned 1500 miles on my 2013 Commander 1000XT. Headed home on the railbed I noticed the belt slipping when I hammered on it. Got home, tore it apart to see what was going on, and found the infamous oil inside the clutch cover. It appears to be coming from behind the primary and is being blown back towards the secondary. After talking to the dealer I was informed they've had a "handful" of these with the same issue, 800's and 1000's combined. Fortunately it's still covered by warranty, but does anyone know if this is that common with the Can-Am's or know of a permanent fix? Ruins my riding for this long weekend coming too!! Hoping the dealer will get it done or give me a demo to take home, SUCKS! This is the only shred of doubt I've had in my Commander yet...

I had same problem just after 10 hours, belt started slipping. Both seals were replaced. I checked again after a couple weeks, still leaking. Back to the dealer for more seals, still leaked at the crank seal. They replaced the rotating assembly(crank and bearings), so far so good but I will check it again before warranty is gone
