I've been using a Battery Tender® Plus (Deltran) for at least five or six years now and haven't had any issues. I'm pretty happy with that purchase. :)

I use a BatteryMINDer 12 volt 2,4,8 Amp version for my Commander, but it is probably overkill, I have bought the less expensive ones for my niece and nephew and they have had a problem with one battery, but my nephew does not always connect the battery tenders. The BatteryMINDer is suppose to keep sulfates from building up which rob the batteries power by cycling the battery instead of just maintaining the charge. Not sure how important that is, all I know is I have not had an issue.

That actually looks like a nice unit...I like the fact that it has a built-in desulfator.

Thanks for the info!

I have a 12.00 tractor supply one, seems to work fine, I need another one,too many toys, looking at a NOCO Genius G3500, 6 or 12 volt , and you can get a real nice dash plug that you just plug the charger into or you can use it for a power outlet.

Some battery tenders just maintain a charge others also are a desulfurator which is said to make the battery last longer. The one I use is a battery minder 12248 which also monitors the temp of the battery to make sure you get the proper charge. It also has quick connectors that you leave in the vehicle that make it easy to maintain your battery. It can also handle up to six batteries.

That sounds nice!! We usually ride every couple weeks and never have long term storage, so the tenders aren't really a requirement for us.

I use a ctek battery charger. It also monitors temperature and keeps cycling the battery. I also use a waterproof in dash connector which monitors the battery power with a green, orange and red led. The mounting hole is exactly the same size as the commander's switches, so very easy to install and a pretty nice look...

Do you have to remove the battery to have it on a level surface in order to tend., or can it be tended while installed in the Commander.
Thanks in advance.

I never remove my battery for tending it. Other wise the quick connect kit in my dash has no point at all...
