That's quiet sad to hear. If the flashers aren't working either, check the flashers and the circuit. Otherwise, check the fuses - there could be a separate fuse for the brake lights. If your model is using the same circuit for the turn signals and the brake lights, you need to check the turn signal switch.
Well, anyways, take the vehicle to an expert mechanic. Don’t try to fix anything whether it is a major repair or a small one when you have little knowledge about car mechanism.
