Has anyone added a center seat? I would like to put a small seat or a platform to mount a child seat in the middle. I think there is room for one but won't get my Commander for another day or two.

Can I assume you are referring to a seat between the front two? I am sure it could be done with some fab work, however, not sure about the heat issue. I know the center area on my Teryx gets pretty warm, I can only imagine how warm it would get a seat mounted above it...not to mention the change in airflow.

Yes, between the front two. I picked the Commander up and the seat I have will fit between on top of the center console. I think a center 'seat belt' bar like the one that TCB sells will work for attaching to the back of the seat and I'll have to look under the center console to see how I might secure the bottom of the seat. I don't know about the heat yet but airflow shouldn't be a problem on the Commander since the intake is under the hood.

I'm not a 'fab' guy. I'm a machined parts kind of guy so this might be interesting.

I hear you...I don't have a Commander so I am not sure what things look like under the center console, however, I wonder if you could make something that goes up and over the console?

I think I have it figured out. Using a Kirkey child racing seat. I ordered a harness bar from UTV Inc which should support the back of the seat. I'll fabricate a seat bottom support and attach it to the frame in back of the seats. In my mind it work work...we'll see about in the real world in a few days.

Trying to attach an image. I'm waiting for the harness bar to support the back of the seat and will order a harness. The seat looks like it will work well. I'm also ordering some head supports to keep his head from bouncing too much side to side.

Took mine out this weekend and the center console get very hot, I would think it would make the bottom of the seat too hot to sit in.

The seat is about an inch above the console. There isn't much insulation under the console so I may need to add some heat shielding under it. Might be good for the winter...

would be very interested on this center seat, got a 3 year old and she loves to ride, had thought of this but I have no way to build it at this time, sure would like to free up a seat for mom, even though she usually rides the grizzzz.

Put some thermo tec or Dynamat to the inside of the center console, get the fan over ride set up to keep the fan on more so the heat doesn't build as much and you will be fine....
