So for those of you who have plans to add any sort of audio to your Commander what are you thinking of going with? Are you going to do a full system with an amp and sub or are you leaning more towards a system like Rugged has where you can listed to your iPod through the headset?

I have been looking at a few marine systems offerings but nothing has really hit home yet.
I want something like 200 watts per channel with 4/channels. And an 8 inch sub. I dont need a ghetto sub liffing my commander off the ground every pulse lol. Id like to have some really good performance 2-ways <mid-tweet> perhaps mounted down by the foot sideboards.
Anyone comes up with this let me know.

In my Teryx, I have a SSV Work center console 10" sub, then two 41.25" speaker pods mounted to my cage, one faces forward, the other backwards. I did not go with a headunit instead I did an iPod hookup and a Sirius Satellite receiver. Unleashed UTV did the install and mounted the amp under my rear seat in the bed.

Here is a picture of the speaker pods:

Here is a picture of the SSV Works sub (you can get it pre-installed with a 10" sub, however, I used a 10" JL Audio sub):

The system is definitely loud, however, to be honest, it is sooo loud in my cab it is sometimes hard to hear.

I'm not sure yet what I want.........we are use to the old style...called radio am/fm..

I'm leaning towards something that I can use a Ipod with but also 2 way radio....with 2 different cars LBR's & mine, and the other issue/ not a problem, but I always ride with my helmet...so I'm not sure what my options may be.....so any suggesdtions would be greatly apprectiated......Barbara

Hey Guys. Our Can-Am Commander speaker pods and sub box are in production. We'll have photos early next month and parts avalaible early 1st quarter next year...

However, our WP-OU4 weatherproof soundbar is avalible and fits NICELY in the Commander!

Thanks guys.... At this time it will work with EITHER roof section, but not BOTH halves which make the complete roof. Because the blow mold roof is so thick, it doesn't allow our system to sit inside the cage tubes like every other Side by Side. So No roof, or half roof is good to go. But a full factory roof won't fit.

Thanks.

I am leaning towards the Rugged Radio intercom option with the iPod hook up. My buddy has a stereo installed in his RZR but he rarely listens to it because of the engine/wind noise. Even when we are parked he rarely turns it on.

For those two reasons I am thinking that the Rugged system would be better. Just this past weekend alone I had to try to yell something to my wife as we were riding. I don't know how well the iPod mute feature works on the Rugged system, so that is one thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on the purchase.

I saw that Rugged was offereing $200 to the first person to do a write up on the other forum. Too bad I was so late in seeing that.

I actually installed a SHARK Motorcycle stereo system that I bought off Ebay, It has two waterproof speakers, a 250 watt amp with MP3 hookup and also a FM tuner. also bought an 8" Bass Tube on ebay as well. Sounds awesome and the hole kit only cost me around $128.00 I willl take some pics, but it really sounds awesome. Click on this link and it will give you an idea as to what the kit sounds like without the sub.
I mounted the amp behind the clovebox. For anyone that wants some awesome tunes without spending a ton of money this kit ROCKS!!!
