Anyone have any experience with the Visco-Lok yet? Have heard reports of people stating that it takes too long to engage. Anyone experience this?
is there a chance you can post the direct link to the thread you are referencing? I must be dumb, and I much prefer Mike's site, but I cannot fine it using the site search over there. I want to educate myself as best I can about this new machine. Thank you in advance!!Just found a thread on ( Can-Am Commander Forum ) about the visco-lock system.
ALOT OF GOOD INFO
A guy says the QE dif is a plug and play swap.
He has already swaped his and works great,.
They list the part number and say cost is around 500$
It also explains REALLY GOOD how the system works.
Saw ODY over there so he already knows also ha ha

This is also what I found out
"the Qe caryer wil fit in the commander housing and it works great.
Are you saying you have a Commander fitted with a Visco Lock QE front dif?
Yes I do"
this also is the part # I found...70500822
I will also be having LBR check into this more, I have had a few instances where I was only 3 wheeled and it sucks...
We may call the dealer in Roseburg OR. they are only 1 1/2 hrs away from us and see if they are the one that have the commander that they put the Qe in or know the guy that did..Very interesting. i will definitely look into it. I guess I may miss the variable front diff lock on the Teryx, it is pretty trick for sure.
Ya he is only 1 1/2 hrs from us, I wondering if he is affiliated with the dealership down there...we are gonna call. One guy took a QE out of a Can Am quad and Installed it in his Commander. Says it works great. He did indicate it made it steer harder on asphalt (to be expected) however really did not notice much of a steering difference on the trail. He did like the quicker engaugement over the standard diff in the Commander.
Ya I called the dealership that I thought might of put it in for him. What they told me was that there would be no warranty for the install or parts which I can understand, and he (commander owner) has not had it installed long enough to know if there would be any other issues. One guy took a QE out of a Can Am quad and Installed it in his Commander.
