I addressed this elsewhere...my local dealer pushed real hard that I'd have to buy $1500 of accessories + the unit at MSRP... I said no way...found another dealer that is selling me the unit at MSRP...which I agreed to...should be here at anytime according the them.. funny thing though...when I spoke to them yesterday...the owner was being very insistent that I buy $1500 of accessories...told him that Id only buy what I needed and that wasn't much...

all the units will show up stock...but sounds like the dealers are under a lot of pressure to "load" them up with accessories once they arrive....all in all... its all negotiable..they do not want them sitting on the sales floor...

I guess it a depends on what options there forcing on you too.

I don't think they care on what you get as much as they want that $1500 of accessories...Im sure they hope its from stuff they have pre-ordered.. and may push you in that direction...

I cant wait until we can actually start talking and sharing about the real important stuff...nothing against what your asking Mr Mutt..as your new here and that's an important question for you at this juncture...but we have been re-hashing most of this stuff for a while...

I have heard of this...I suppose this is the UTV equivalent to what car dealerships do on limited edition or sought after vehicles. The term they use is escaping me right now, however, I do not think it is right.

Let me ask you this, do you have a signed contract for your order or was it just a simple put some money down and you have rights to the first machine that rolls in?

After I put down a deposit I called back that afternoon and asked the final price. When I heard I was like what the heck, why so much. They then told me I get 1600 in accessories and I have no choice but to buy them. They said take it or leave it.

Last one I can get in about a 500 mile radius. I might let it go and wait for the next round.

Did you have any specific plans for your Commander? I suppose I am asking would those accessories be something you would use or would they be removed anyway.

I totally understand what you are saying, honestly, I would have to say I think forcing buyers to purchase items they don't want or will not use is pretty weak.

I planned on paying cash for the whole deal until now. Theres 1600.00 more and then .0825 California tax on top of that. Thats 1732.00 on top of 16988.75. 18720.75 is a load of money for a toy.

Oh I hear you, it was like when I bought my Teryx, was not going to buy the LE with all the stuff that was just going to get taken off.

Oh and your not kidding, that is a load of dough for a toy

Sorry to hear your story.....I've heard that there is not a lot of markup on BRP machines because the factory amps up the prices to dealerships.....but not just because to stick them, but because they're a better built machine which costs more to produce......but markup of accessories help equate the net margins.....it is a common practice with a lot of brands also....Lance

If you do not want the accessarys then tell them to go [email protected]#% themselfs. Another option is to call the BBB and file a complaint. They are forcing you to buy as is, this is customor manipulation and its frowned upon by the BBB. You did not request them and expected a standard Issue. I dought that the accesarys are even on the machine yet. Personally I would go with option 1!:furious:

Its a fine line on this stuff sometimes if you want it...personally I would not pay anymore than MSRP and not buy any options that I did not want...BUT...they ahve the right to refuse service to anyone and they can refuse to sell to you...and unfortunately on this particular item supply is limited and buyers are not currently.
