Hi all,

The first race of the season was great, we had 65 vehicles turn out and race with 42 starting on the grid. The other vehicles were team mates waiting to tag in and get on the course. As the owner and organizer of UTV Rally Raid I couldn't have been happier. For the April race we're teaming up with the great UTV Off Road magazine to bring each driver entry a free copy of the magazine. It shows that UTV Rally Raid is being taken very seriously by those people in the know and those people that can help the series grow with great value partnerships.

The action was very fasted paced indeed and Durham Town Plantation did a great job in getting the trails ready for our race. We had a stock Rhino take 3rd place in the stock class as well a Commander 1000X winning it's class.

Vehicles represented were as follows.

Polaris RZR
Polaris RZR S
Polaris RZR XP
Polaris RZR 4
Canam Commander 800
Canam Commander 1000X
Arctic Cat Prowler 1000
Yamaha Rhino
Yamaha Rhino Sport
Kawasaki Teryx
Rage Buggy
Redline Revolt
Honda Odyssey
Boss Buggy

The first race has shown us that UTV Rally Raid is the new kid on the block and there really isn't any racing like it out there. The last race was the biggest in the south east of all of last year and everyone involved had a great time.

Of the 65 buggies in the race only 8 vehicles didn't make it to the end and that includes broken belts and simply running out of gas.

This is so much more than a low level race, this is a well organized event that will grow and grow to give the south east something to be proud of.

Come and a race and see what all the noise is about, bring the family and have a day at the races. 4 hours of blasting down the trails in the light and dark. The pits are alive so even if you don't want to race it's great fun to just come and watch, we have an in filed section so there is always something to see and hear.

The next race is April 16th, you can get all the info you need at the race site.

There are pictures of the last race on the site as well as the lap times. The Championship points will be posted over the next few days.

Thanks to CommanderTalk for a great site and allowing us to post our races.

I may be heading down for the next one with the boys from Iowa. It's a haul, but they swear it is worth every hour of drive down and back for the racing action based on the first race of the year. I think it will be at least 3 if not 4 or 5 of us heading down. It'll be an AC1000, Commander 1000, Commander 800, RZR 800, and possibly a RZR 800S.

Check that ... won't be at the next one ... it's the same weekend as our opener. I was bummed to see the overlapping weekends.
