Hey I'm Chelsea! i'll be purchasing a commander 1000 x soon and this is my first off road toy. I have a few questions:
1. Has anyone been able to find a snorkel kit other than the one that is the 3 tubes above the switches?? maybe one that goes up the roll cage?
2. What about breaking it in? I've had a couple friends that say take it easy before you tear through the mud or anything, don't go fast for a while, etc. anyone have any suggestions through experience??
Thanks :)

Have you or anyone heard or knows how it handles in the mud? Like i've been looking for a weeks and at first I was looking at the Rzr 900 but I finally saw the commander in person a few days ago and I instantly fell in love. I just wish I could get the 1000x in camo! But I could care less about the color I want to be able to tear it up. And I'm hoping a girl my size will be able to handle it fine. What made you choose the commander?

Chelsea my friend just wrapped his Outlander with camoclad and it came out real nice. I included the link & there are how to vids on the website. With some patiance it is relatively easy. The wrap is very tough and once you seal w/a heat gun it sticks! We are going riding this weeknd so I am anxous to see how it stands up to branches, mud and what not. There are multiple patterns to choose from.

Welcome to the forum!

The links posted are great for break in. As far as the snorkles go it really depends on what you want to do and how you want it to look.

If you want to just buy a kit you can call CATVOS I am sure they have a kit. The ones I have seen from them have the intake running up the drivers side roll cage, and the other 2 exhaust vents running up in the back.

If you are a do it yourselfer, you can get 2" ABS pipe at LOWES and the fittings. I have it on my list to do I just have not got around to it yet. So I do not have a parts list to purchase to get everything you need.

I must warn you before going to CATVOS site or calling them. If you are into mud, you may get to know them really well! Check out their site and pictures of all the rides they have done. Really great people to talk with.

As far as how it handles in the mud the Bighorns are ok in the mud. They are for sure no silverback or terminator. But it does ok, you will want different tires if you plan on spending alot of time in the mud.

I have the CATVOS lift and 29.5 terminators on mine but I am just wrapping up the install now. Will have some pictures and feedback soon about all my modifications. I will also put up a post about my snorkles once I complete mine.

Will be glad to answer questions or help any way I can. Get ready to have a HUGE smile on your face when your machine comes in!!

I kind believe in motormans break in method, ride hard to seat the rings. Just let her get to operating temp and then have at her. Otherwise its just the belt you have to worry about. We got pretty rough with ours right off the bat, hit the mud right away, the belt only lasted 7 miles. After the new belt we put on 40 easier miles and then hit the mud. The new belt now has 100miles on it with no trouble. We are running -1/4 spring spacers & 30" silver backs with which will add quite a bit more strain on the belt. We are snorkeled ( custom built by dealer out of ABS - $ 350 bucks ) out the dash / between seats and had water over the hood the other day with no problems. Its hard to tell what your getting into when your that deep and we were only a few inches from the snorkels, i will probably re route them up to the roof just in case.
