Anyone planning on installing a GPS into their Commander? Is your plan to hardwire or go with a handheld on a fixed mount?

I installed a Lowrance GlobalMap Baja 540C GPS into the dash of my Teryx and it works really well. They have since discontinue it and replaced it with the Lowrance HDS-5 Baja Off-Road GPS. The HDS-5 is a nice unit as it now has the antenna integrated into the unit versus the remote antenna the 540C had.

Funny you should ask... I just mounted my Garmin 276c (see pic below) temporarly and and planning on a Lowrance Baja as you mentioned...I hear you can still add the external antenna... any ideas on best place to buy one? I have found GPS City they would do $549 shipping free to price match..

Here is where I mounted mine:

I purchased my 540C from TigerGPS, they were the cheapest I found at that time, however, does not look like they have the HDS-5

Looks like Amazon has it for $504.75

Sweet looking dash Michael!!......I like the clean layout.......

We use a handheld Garmin for all our asphalt and sand travels.....I download the daily saved tracks....then the special ones I load into Google Earth 3D......so cool!!....Lance

Funny how all those "WARNING" labels disapear aint it. Got mine today and their already gone too.
