Just joined the forum to learn more of the commander. I have a 2012 Rhino that I purchased last December but after spending this last weekend in Ouchita National Forest outside of Mena, AR, I am planning on getting a Commander. Mine and my Wife's big concern was the heat issue we heard of from one rider there but I have already looked at the heat thread here and feel confident we can fix that issue. Any more opinions on the commander are welcomed as the more good opinions, the quicker my boss (Wife) will let me get one. Also, know anyone wanting a sweet Rhino?
Thanks,
Tim

Welcome, yes the heat issue in the cab is easily taken care of in a number of ways. From adding heat shielding to adding a blower fan to move more air through the tunnel in the center line of the vehicle or both you can remove the heat issue.

Welcome to the club!.... I'm a 2006 Rhino owner, but the Mrs has the dynamite Commander in our family....nicknamed the Cow

The worst negative of the Cow is the rear-end whining issues...most have it, but sounds like a fix is on the way.....

who / where is the best pricing for some heat shielding? Wife threatens to not go anymore if I can't cool down the cab a little! (2017 Commander 1000)

amazon has many options, buy the good stuff, sticky rubber backing , aluminum face, , 3’x10” would do it. remove every interior panel, also plastic pans under the seats. Get some titanium header wrap and the flat wire clamps. remove exhaust from machine, (much easier, better job) use zip ties till you get it installed correctly then replace the zips wirh the flat wire clamps. I also installed the thermostat delete kit and a fan switch kit, i can turn fan on and off whenever, but the kit does not bypass the factory temp switch, which is good. those mods have made the machine very tollarable, when slow trail riding turn fan on and it keeps machine cooler. Deep water turn fan off.
