We bought a 2013 800 Commander almost 2 months ago and while it doesnt have a winch on it , I was thinking of ordering one and doing it myself.

How hard is it to install.....and what all needs to be taken apart to get the mount plate in position ?

For those that have a winch already, where is a good place to mount / install the Contactor ? I was thinking under the driver seat, but I have seen that fill up with water and sand already, so looking for another location.

Also thinking of upgrading to different tires from the stock ones and is there any major difference in going from 12 " to 14" rims ? I do see that some tires are not made in 14", but other than anything else ?

whazz up riley
we have a 1000x . installed a viper 3000e this fall, went in pretty easy, give yourself an afternoon or so.
started by unbolting the front end and mounting the winch & bracket. run wires tight to mount, frame& whatevers close/ use lots of zip ties.
got mine from amazon about $275.
mounted contactor inches from batt.shortened fat wires a lot added dash switch, & put plug for remote in glove box like xt models.
I recomend bolth . pulled a full size dodge cummings out of the snow, up hill. no sweat, in 4x. got the yellow senthetic rope very happy. oh get the commander package with bracket mount. directions are vague but well worth it.
good luck!!
